Welcome to the "Warriors of the Wasteland"

 Sacrifice of Fire

This Event will take place on Saturday Night, June 3rd 2006 at the Utah Regional Burn gathering called "Wasteland".

The short and the sweet of this is basically a 2 ringed Tribal Haitian Circle Dance.  The limit of the Dance Circle will have Tiki Torches and Bamboo Poles holding Human Skulls.  At the North End of the Circle will be an Altar Holding the Idol of the Fire Goddess Pyru who will preside over the Ritual.  In the Center will be the Fire Altar which will consist of (2)  Eight by Four Poles to Bind the Sacrifice sitting on top of a pile of wood.   There will be Body Painting Circles before the main Saturday Night Burn.  Our performance will follow the main Burn.  It is better to come to the area in Costume and then let yourself be painted by myself or some of my assistants.   Click on the Picture for a Layout Plan of the Dance Area.

The Script:

A Parade carrying the Sacrifice (a straw stuffed Human Effigy in a Bussiness Suit) bound to  2X4's in a large cross to the Fire Altar led by the 6 Female Fire Baton Dancers,  Drummers, Tribal Dancers and Dr. Mogamboo leading the Procession.  Six people (3 women and 3 men will carry the Sacrifice to the Fire Altar).  The procession will enter the Dance Circle from the West and line the perimeter.  The Six Female Fire Baton Dancers entering the circle will surround the Fire Altar while the 6 Dancers carrying the Sacrifice bind it to the Poles on the Fire Altar,  Dr. Mogamboo will Cast the Circle.  The Tribe at Dr. Mogamboo's signal will kneel to the ground and Bow before the Fire Goddess Pyru.  Dr. Mogamboo will then invoke the Fire Goddess to Accept our Sacrifice.  Dr. Mogamboo will then turn to Face the Tribe and Scream "Let the Sacrifice Begin".  At this point the Drums will pound out a sensual jungle rhythm and the Fire Baton Dancers will light thier Batons and begin a circle dance clockwise around the Fire Altar.   Dr. Mogamboo will lead the rest of the Tribe in a Haitian Circle Dance counter clockwise in the outer ring.  As the Drums reach a crescendo (10 to 15 minutes) at Dr. Mogamboo's signal will light the Straw Effigy.  The Circle Dancers will dance Faster and Wilder till the Sacrifice is consumed at which point the audience will be invited in to dance till dawn hopefully.

The Costumes:

You should try to get the Post Apocolyptic, Primitive, Prehistoric Savage Tribal  look in your Body and Face Paint as well as the Headresses and Costumes.  I personally love the New Guinea, African type of look for my Costumes.  Any kind of Loin Cloth will do but it would look cool if people used Leather or Rabbit Skin Loin Cloths.  Click on the Picture for some costume ideas that I have used.
